Our Country Deserves Better will be running this ad nationwide during the week of Thanksgiving as a response to the cowardly, anonymous attacks of Washington insiders through their willing accomplices in the Drive By Media — and yes, Carl Cameron and Shepard Smith are now part of that with their gossipmongering — against Sarah Palin.

The e-mail alert included these words:

These despicable people are trashing an honorable and wonderful woman who did nothing wrong other than to offer to serve this nation for four years.

Friends, those attacking Sarah Palin are trying to destroy her so that she cannot be an effective advocate for conservative ideals in the future.

Exactly.

These cowardly Washington insiders — former McCain staffers including Nicholle Wallace and Stephen Schmidt — and other blueblood countryclub Rockefeller Bush Republicans are simply trying to destroy every single Reaganesque conservative voice prior to the 2012 election in order to secure the GOP nomination for Mitt Romney or some other elitist empty suit just to continue to move the party to the left and guarantee permanent electoral minority status.

More Police State Tactics November 8, 2008

Welcome to the Brave New Obama World.

A man was handcuffed and arrested in Philadelphia simply for wearing a McCain-Palin T-shirt. No kidding.

According to the Philadelphia police, the man was arrested for disorderly conduct. What was the disorderly conduct? A group of The Messiah’s thugs and goons Apostles surrounded the man and jeered and harassed him. Who was disorderly again?

And instead of defending the lone man, the police ordered him to leave the area. That’s right. The assault was his fault for being there with the wrong candidates identified on a shirt.

From the Philadelphia police:

He was causing large crowds to form around him. He was not listening to police commands. He was asked several times to leave the area. He refused several commands from police to leave the area.

He was causing????? He … was … causing??? Just what did he do to cause it, other than to be wearing the “wrong” shirt? He didn’t cause anything. He had every right to be there. The man did absolutely nothing wrong. Nothing.

Watch the video. This is the new America, and you voted for it, folks.

Say a Packer fan walks into Soldier Field in November wearing a Brett Favre jersey. Does that give the Bear fans the right to beat him to a pulp? Of course not. No one deserves verbal and physical assault simply for wearing the incorrect shirt in any area. It cannot be viewed as baiting. The other people should be responsible for their own actions.

Here’s another one. A Kansas man hand-delivers an essay about the Chocolate Jesus’s relationship with his Marxist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis and the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers to a woman he met at church and winds up with the cops at his door within 15 minutes. The woman is a civilian police department administrator and her reaction to receiving was over the top, shall we say.

He then drove home, and a clergyman from his church called him, saying Murphree had complained about the letter. While he was speaking on the phone, only 10-15 minutes following his letter delivery, an officer from the Lawrence Police Department appeared on his doorstep.

“He belligerently demanded to speak with me,” Garner said. “I asked him if I was required to speak with him without an attorney present. He told me no, and I bade him leave my property. He then told me that Kim had lodged a criminal trespass complaint against me and that if I went on her property again I would be arrested.”

Garner said he told the officer he would consult an attorney.

“I perceived this to be a blatant effort to intimidate me over my political beliefs and that such action was illegal and unconstitutional,” he said. “He became more belligerent where upon my wife stepped up and informed him that what Kim claimed I had done was a lie as she, my wife, was there as a witness.”

Garner said he believes the administrator used her association with the local police to punish him for his political beliefs.

Uh, no kidding. That’s the new political atmosphere in America. We saw it during the campaign, with two Secret Service agents being dispatched to a home in Texas to confront Jessica Hughes for being rude to an Obama campaign worker. We saw it again with The One threatening criminal prosecution to groups running ads connecting him to Ayers. We saw it with Obama thugs at the Justice Department threatening criminal prosecution to anyone complaining of voter fraud on Election Day. We saw it with The Apostles in Missouri — DAs and sheriffs — working in concert with the Obama campaign, threatening arrest and prosecution to anyone claiming The Second Coming of Christ wasn’t a Christian and wanted to raise taxes (He isn’t, and He does).

Say “Sieg Heil” to the nice people.

Duh-Bama: Nancy Reagan’s Seances November 8, 2008

The Anointed One takes an unwarranted cheap shot at former First Lady Nancy Reagan by alleging she held seances while Ronald Reagan was president.

Later, He was forced to call the former First Lady and apologize.

Obama was asked at his press conference today if he’d spoken to all the “living” presidents.

“I have spoken to all of them who are living,” he responded. “I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances.”

He was apparently confusing stories about Reagan’s consulting with an astrologer with those about other First Ladies — from Mary Todd Lincoln to Hillary Clinton — who tried to make contact with figures from the past.

Actually, the story about Nancy Reagan using an astrologer was something mentioned by Donald Regan, Treasury Secretary in the Reagan administration, an allegation which brought an angry reaction by the President denying its accuracy. It’s never been verified. The allegation about Hillary Clinton having seances and talking to the ghost of Eleanor Roosevelt was first raised Bob Woodward’s book The Choice. Again, although there was a lot of laughter directed at Mrs. Clinton (much like Mrs. Reagan), in Hillary’s defense, the allegation was never confirmed or verified. It was just a report.

Both stories seem to be just more D.C. urban legends.

Credit Union Reaches Out November 8, 2008

Kudos to Educators Credit Union for stepping up to the plate in Racine and replacing over half of the computers stolen from several elementary schools in the Racine Unified School District.

RACINE — Educators Credit Union announced Friday that it has donated 33 computers to the Racine Unified School District to replace computers that were stolen from several schools earlier this fall.

Nearly 70 computers were stolen from five Unified schools over a two-month period.

Racine police are still investigating the computer heists from Giese, Wadewitz and Jerstad-Agerholm elementary schools and McKinley Middle School that netted some 68 computers. The loss is estimated at more than $60,000. No arrests have been made.

“We were very sorry to hear about the burglaries that happened in some of the Racine Unified schools this fall,” Credit Union President Eugene Szymczak said in a statement. “We understand the importance of having good technology and equipment to help maximize student learning.”

My sources in RUSD tell me that the district has filed insurance claims on the theft, but covering the deductible is the huge obstacle toward replacing the stolen computers. Teachers, parents, students and taxpayers should be grateful to the graciousness and generosity of ECU for their gift to the district.

Target: Sarah Palin November 8, 2008

Didn’t take too long for the sleazemeisters in the blueblood, countryclubber Rockefeller Bush Wing of the Republican Party to take aim at Sarah Palin in the process of Quaylization of the Sarahcuda. For those of you who graduated from Racine Unified, that means to turn Sarah Palin into a female version of  Dan Quayle.

By the way, I lost respect for former President George H. W. Bush for allowing people in his inner circle to undermine Quayle and to not step up to the defense of his own running mate and eventual vice president when he was under attack.

Right now, John McCain is becoming less and less honorable for not speaking up in Sarah Palin’s defense against anonymous smears being made by his own former staffers. Anonymous, as in unverifiable gossip and cowardly attacks.

What types of anonymous leaks? Well, for starters, insiders are claiming that Palin didn’t know that Africa was a continent but thought it was a country. And, that Palin was unable to identify the countries involved in NAFTA.

What’s worse is that normally reputable journalists such as Carl Cameron and Shepard Smith of Fox News participated in the smear by broadcasting the anonymous information without even thinking so much as to question why anyone would release information without any verification or attribution.

Says Ace of Spades:

It does not occur to either man to question these anonymous, and quite absurd, claims.

Or to wonder if perhaps these aides are of the Buckley/Parker sort, or if they perhaps have in mind a candidate they prefer in 2012…

Thus even Fox News begins the campaign to irradiate Palin to toxic levels for 2012.

That’s right. The lefties’ favorite target, Fox News, participated in the smearing of Palin. Fair and balanced? Not this time.

Ace adds this story:

Here’s a story these staffers tell: Sent to collect Palin from a hotel, she greeted them, straight from the shower (running late, I guess ) dressed (scandal!) only in a bathrobe (presumably a very thick hotel bathrobe).

These staffers called that “uncommon” — Cameron delighted in the word to give it the sound of “whorish, unprofessional.”

Heh, assholes? She had to open the door and had just gotten out of the shower. Did you want her to use her magical powers of telekinesis to open the door for you?

This apparent scandalous reaction to a woman just out of the shower not making them wait outside but letting them into the suite wearing a bathrobe… well. Okay.

I want names.

So do I. Sounds like Cameron and Smith share political ideologies with the Rockefeller Bush Wing of the GOP. Either that, or they are auditioning for Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood as gossipmongers.

Erick Erickson at Red State names two names that he has confirmed: Nicholle Wallace and Steve Schmidt. Erickson is calling it Operation Leper: to turn the likes of Kathleen Parker, Peggy Noonan, George Will and every political consultant out to destroy and smear Sarah Palin into political lepers.

Count me in.

Michelle Malkin adds:

At least all the Hollywood and Manhattan Palin-haters were willing to sign their names and put their faces on their attacks.

Let’s assume the rumor-mongers are telling the truth for a moment. Who does it damn more: Sarah Palin or McCain and his vetters who green-lighted her for the vice presidential nomination? Don’t need an Ivy League degree to figure that one out.

Newsweek evens goes after Palin using anonymous sources claiming the so-called spending spree for clothes was even bigger than first reported and included buying items for her husband and children.

Newsweek has also learned that Palin’s shopping spree at high-end department stores was more extensive than previously reported. While publicly supporting Palin, McCain’s top advisers privately fumed at what they regarded as her outrageous profligacy. One senior aide said that Nicolle Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist. But instead, the vice presidential nominee began buying for herself and her family—clothes and accessories from top stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill. Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards. The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement. One aide estimated that she spent “tens of thousands” more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost. An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast,” and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books.

A Palin aide said: “Governor Palin was not directing staffers to put anything on their personal credit cards, and anything that staffers put on their credit cards has been reimbursed, like an expense. Nasty and false accusations following a defeat say more about the person who made them than they do about Governor Palin.”

Wasilla hillbillies … what a collection of elitist snobs. Judge Smails, call your office. Some people just don’t belong.

Sounds like another inside hitjob performed by people either intent on promotion another candidate — Mitt Romney, call your office — or intent on destroying a conservative with solid credentials who is actuall able to rally the base and get people to turn out in droves. Almost Reaganesque. God forbid these blueblood countryclubbers have to go through another Reagan and have to actually deal with real blue-collar Americans, once known as Reagan Democrats.

Allahpundit has video of the Fox News attacks here and here.

I don’t believe any of this. Especially the NAFTA and Africa tales. Those sound as if they were invented to help in the Quaylization process. Think of it as an newer version of “potatoe.” It’s like how the McCain campaign allowed the line used by Tina Fey in her impersonation of Palin about being able to see Russia from her house and that making her a foreign policy expert, never mind that Palin never said any such thing. But the McCain campaign never refuted it and allowed it to be attached to Palin. Wonder if that was a decision made by Wallace and Schmist. Me thinks so.

By the way, imagine the level of wipeout if Palin had not been on the ticket. According to pollster Scott Rasmussen, 69 percent of Republican voters felt Palin had a positive effect on the GOP ticket. Only 20 percent — those blueblood countryclubbers — felt she had a negative effect.

Update: from Greta Van Susteren’s blog, Gretawaire, via Josh Painter at RedState, Steve Schmidt says the towel story about Palin is untrue. Schmidt refuses to address the rest of the lies released in the same mode as someone passing an SBD. Smells about the same, too.
