Looks like The Messiah wants to get his era off to rousing start, effectively by issuing a series of executive orders to govern. You know, like a dictator does.

WASHINGTON – (Barack Hussein) Obama plans to use his executive powers to make an immediate impact when he takes office, perhaps reversing Bush administration policies on stem cell research and domestic drilling for oil and natural gas.

John Podesta, Obama’s transition chief, said Sunday Obama is reviewing President Bush’s executive orders on those issues and others as he works to undo policies enacted during eight years of Republican rule. He said the president can use such orders to move quickly on his own.

“There’s a lot that the president can do using his executive authority without waiting for congressional action, and I think we’ll see the president do that,” Podesta said. “I think that he feels like he has a real mandate for change. We need to get off the course that the Bush administration has set.

Just like a dictator does. So it shall be written, so it shall be done. Maybe for old time’s sake, He could preface each executive order with “Allah has spoken.”

Using executive orders to undo his predecessor’s executive orders? Doesn’t seem that egregiously dictatorial to me. In fact, it’s exactly what President Bush did to Clinton’s executive orders. Yeah, yeah, we liberals shrieked about it. Hopefully, though, Obama will avoid his predecessor’s excessive use of Rose Garden signing statements.

“We need to get off the course that the Bush administration has set.”

Look for this line to be used over and over again by the Obama Administration for the reason why they can’t “do what they do”.

Did you like that? I’m trying to become more black. I’m shooting for about 50% blackness; perhaps someday, I too will be President.

Frankly I wasn’t any more fond of it when Bush and Clinton did it. Clinton did a lot of it at the end of his 2nd term to bypass Congress when he couldn’t get something though.

No matter who does it, it has a dictatorial ring to it.

I don’t know that you sound more black, Mr. P. P., but you certainly are sounding more racist.

Peter, I’d love to see links to comments you’ve made in the past criticizing President Bush for issuing executive orders.

As to Mr. Pelican Pants’ comments, I think it’s pretty clear a majority of Americans think we do need to get off the course the Bush administration has set, hence the election of a Democratic president and increases in the Democratic House and Senate majorities.

I wasn’t blogging in 2001 or prior to that when Clinton was doing the same thing. You’ll have to take my word for it.

But this is just pure arrogance on The Messiah’s part. Real brass gonads.

Hold the phone there, Mike. You can’t call me racist. That word no longer exists as of November 4, 2008. And even if it did, calling me a racist makes you a racist. But of course, you’re not, as racism in America officially died last Tuesday.

Care for a piece of marble cake?
