Update On The Theft Of The Minnesota Senate Seat December 24, 2008

From Nice Deb via No Runny Eggs.
Guess who’s fingerprints are all over the pending theft of the U.S. Senate seat in Minnesota?
George Soros and ACORN — the Association of Corrupted Organizations Registering Non-voters. Gee, what a surprise.
Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, who orchestrated the recount that gave Democratic challenger Al Franken a lead some six weeks after incumbent GOP Sen. Norm Coleman appeared to win by 725 votes on Election Day, has extensive ties to both the ACORN organization now under federal investigation for vote fraud, and to MoveOn.org ultra-liberal kingmaker George Soros.
In 2006, ACORN endorsed Ritchie in his bid to become secretary of state, and Ritchie also received a campaign contribution that year from Soros.
Indeed, Ritchie has credited his own political career in large part to an obscure, Soros-funded group called the Secretary of State Project (SoS), whose express purpose is to seed state election bureaucracies nationwide with partisan activists — Ritchie among them — who are strategically positioned to influence the outcome of close recounts like the one now underway in Minnesota.
The SoS Web site lauds Ritchie as “arguably the most progressive secretary of state in America,” and states: “Thanks to SoS Project donors, Minnesota’s Mark Ritchie – a true champion for Democracy – was able to defeat a two-term incumbent Republican by less than 5 points. We helped close the gap and make the difference with cable television ads targeting women and seniors.”
Nor does Ritchie downplay the role of the Soros-funded nonprofit in his own election win.
“I want to thank the Secretary of State Project and its thousands of grassroots donors for helping push my campaign over the top,” he states on the partisan political site.
This is the same process the Democrats used to steal the gubernatorial election in the state of Washington in 2004. Count, recount, recount. Discovery of ballots, all in favor of the Democrat candidate with no ballot security. Corrections in heavily Democrat precincts well outside of the statistical norm, all explained away as a “mistake.”
To quote Ann Coulter:
The vote-theft most like Minnesota this year was the infamous 2004 gubernatorial election in Washington State. The Republican won the race on election night, but ballots favoring the Democrat kept being “discovered” until the Democrat finally eked out a majority. At that point, the recount was immediately halted and the Democrat declared the victor.
You would have to go back to Reconstruction to find an election that was stolen by the Republicans this way, but it’s all in a day’s work for the Democrats.
That’s why they were so testy about the 2000 Florida election. It was the one time in the last century Republicans wouldn’t let Democrats steal an election they lost by less than a thousand votes.
By the way, this is what will happen here. Today, the Minnesota state Supreme Court allowed the counting of duplicate ballots, no doubt all for Al Franken, and pretty much opened the door all the way for the Democrats to get every vote they need to take the seat.
Again, as I have said previously, I want every legal vote counted once and only once. Clearly the Minnesota state Supreme Court doesn’t care if someone is allowed to vote multiple times.
My guess this is headed to federal courts, where it’s anyone’s guess as to what happens.
Don’t forget: Dingy Harry can refuse to seat Norm Coleman should he prevail in the courts. Senate Democrats can simple declare Franken the winner and award him the seat.
If voters don’t demand the restoration of integrity to the voting process, we can look forward to more of these three-ring circuses.
How can we restore integrity?
- Eliminate same day voter registration. Make voters register to vote a minimum of 30 days prior to an election.
- Require photo ID for all voters. Make every voter prove he or she is who they say they are. We’re required to show photo ID to rent DVDs, cash checks, even buy cold medicine and certain car maintenance products. Why is voting less important that those procedures?
- Eliminate motor voter registration and all provisional ballots.
All of these have fueled voter fraud across the country. And anyone who doesn’t support these basic changes supports the idea of voter fraud because their candidates — Democrats — benefit from it.
Maybe the Republicans should figure out a way to practice voter fraud to get the Democrat supporters on board.

A Soldier’s Christmas December 24, 2008

A SOLDIER’S CHRISTMAS
‘Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
in a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone.
I had come down the chimney with presents to give,
and to see just who in this little house lived.
As I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No Stockings by mantle, just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures of far distant lands.
With medals and badges, awards of all kinds,
A sobering thought came through my mind.
For this house was different, it was dark and dreary,
The home of a soldier, I could now see clearly.
The soldier lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor in this one bedroom home.
The face was so gentle, the room in such disorder,
Not how I picture a United States Soldier.
Was this the hero of whom I’d just read?
Curled up on a poncho, the floor for a bed?
I realized the families that I saw this night,
owed their lives to these soldiers who were willing to fight.
Soon round the world, the children would play,
and grownups would celebrate a bright Christmas day.
They all enjoyed freedom each month of the year,
because of the soldiers, like the one lying here.
I couldn’t help wondering how many lay alone,
on a cold Christmas Eve in a land far from home.
The very thought brought a tear to my eye,
I dropped to one knee and started to cry.
The soldier awakened and I heard a rough voice,
“Santa don’t cry, for this life is my choice”.
I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more,
My life is my God, my country, my corps.”
The soldier rolled over and drifted to sleep,
I couldn’t control it, I continued to weep.
I kept watch for hours, so silent and still,
as we both shivered from the cold night’s chill.
I didn’t want to leave, on that cold, dark night,
this guardian of honor, so willing to fight.
Then the soldier rolled over, with a voice soft and pure,
whispered, “Carry on Santa…., It’s Christmas Day…., All is secure.
One look at my watch, and I knew he was right,
Merry Christmas my friend…. and to all a Good Night.

Luke 2
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

MRQ’s Notable Quotables Best-Of 2008 December 24, 2008

An annual tradition, as the Media Research Center hands out its awards to the dumb, silly and outright moronic quotes from the Drive By Media.
Quote of the Year goes to Chris Matthews, host of Screwball on CNBC, for comments he made while appearing on PMSNBC with The Olbertard:
Matthews: I have to tell you, you know, it’s part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama’s speech. My — I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don’t have that too often.
The Olbertard: Steady.
Matthews: No, seriously. It’s a dramatic event. He speaks about America in a way that has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with the feeling we have about our country. And that is an objective assessment.
Yuck. To Matthews: Is that a banana in your pocket or are you just glad to hear Him?
Incidentally, one of MRQ’s judges is WISN-AM’s own Mark Belling.
