The Trillion Dollar ‘Stimulus’ Pork Barrel And Your Taxes January 9, 2009

The Messiah Himself, Barack Hussein Obama, tells us that only government can solve the problems the country faces.
“At this particular moment, only government can provide the short-term boost necessary to lift us from a recession this deep and severe,” he said.
Notes Gateway Pundit:
If it works it will be the first time in history that an economy was able to spend its way out of a meltdown.
I think this commenter at Gateway Pundit summarizes the absurdity of what the Chocolate Jesus and His newly minted Democrat henchmen are proposing.
Now, we learn what the Hammer is to follow the stimulus Sickle: the Mother of all Tax Hikes.
Now Bela Pelosi is calling for an immediate end to the tax rate reductions enacted under the Bush administration, rather than simply letting them expire in 2010. This is in addition to the so-called tax cuts to people who don’t pay taxes — that is really known as welfare — that would be part of the stimulus-a-palooza package.
By the way, giving credits and gummint checks is not a tax cut, no matter how the Left tries to redefine the language. Credits is a carrot to the government stick, a reward for behaving as Big Nanny wants you to behave, and a gummint check is welfare.
And yes, they weren’t tax cuts when President Bush did them, either.
Here’s a kneeslapper:
Pelosi said the income tax cuts to the highest earning Americans — which were decreased from 39.6 to 35 percent as part of the 2001 Bush tax plan — have been “the biggest contributor to the budget deficit,” which now stands at $1.2 trillion for fiscal year 2009.
How in the heck can anyone say that with a straight face? Of course, for Bela Pelosi, it’s easy. She’s had so many facelifts her face is permanently straight. If she has one more facelift, she’ll have a goatee.
The deficit is a result of the spending. It’s the spending, stupid. Period. End of sentence. From the Medicare entitlement to pork-laden transportation and farm bills to the Troubled Assets Reovery Program to all the other bailouts.
It’s the spending, stupid.
Spending? We got spending, folks. A tiny town in Alabama wants $375 million from the stimulus-a-palooza bill.
Now Michelle Malkin directs us to digitalized TV, which was supposed to be here next month but now may be delayed because the fund to give a free digital TV converter to anyone who wants one — paid for by taxpayers — is broke and needs a bailout to the tune of, oh, say, $250 million.
Of course The Second Coming of Christ is urging the switch to digital TV be delayed because it’s too much of a hardship for some viewers to go without TV subsidized by taxpayers.
And if that’s not enough, porn kings Joe Francis and Larry Flynt are going hat in hand to Congress for $5 billion from the stimulus-a-palooza bill to bail out the porn industry.
By the way, that one may be appropriate, considering what the newly-minted one party government in Washington is about to do to taxpayers.
