A Dangerous Era Begins

Mac Johnson at Human Events on the era of extreme danger unrecognized by all but a few that America enters with today’s coronation of Our Lord and Savior.

Unexamined by the media, unopposed by Congress, unleashed from precedent by crisis, there is another wrinkle in the story to consider: the strange cult of personality that surrounds Obama.

This cult is nothing short of creepy and is distinctly un-American. Unlike many other nations, we have avoided the “leader as a movement” hazard in America. We have traditionally believed in institutions and mistrusted any individual who claimed to be “the solution” to all our problems.

Something has changed with the rise of Obama. His stylized image is slapped on posters, bumper stickers, chocolate bars, commemorative coins, cups, t-shirts and sold not just at political events but at grocery stores and retail shops. He has own symbols, seals, and flags. Glowering from within a Maoist sunburst. Beaming from a Warholish print. Pondering the skies from within his own “O”, he has gone beyond what is appropriate and traditional for an American political candidate. He has become an infallible fetish object for some.

We’ve become a nation of American Idol, now transferred to politics. True symbolism over any real substance.

El Rushbo compared it to Jim Jones and the People’s Temple cult from the 1970s yesterday. The Drive By Media as well as the followers of the cult have consumed the Kool-Aid. Comparing the emptiest of empty suits to, of all people. Abraham Lincoln. Raising Dear Leader to the status of a cult figure a la Jim Jones.

Unfortunately it has the very real potential to wind up with the same tragedy as Jonestown.

Here’s Limbaugh’s summary of Jonestown:

[H]ere’s the down low on Jim Jones. His commune there was 900 people, Jonestown, and it was 1978 that he convinced everybody to drink the Kool-Aid. So over 900 people died, and his cult was a socialist-type community. He was a godlike figure, and most cult leaders, folks, are. Even if they’re not political figures, when you strip away what it is about them that makes them godlike, it is their socialistic approach to people. Everybody is going to be the same. Everybody is going to be prosperous. There will be no pain. Everybody is going to get what everybody else gets. Everybody is going to be equal. There won’t be any disparities, inequality, this sort of thing. Plus the cult leaders makes you think that he’s going to do everything for you. All you gotta do is get up and walk around in your white robe and put your hands together and pretend to be a monk and pray — and, of course, do what he says at every moment. A cult leader is essentially a power freak and in Jones’ case, a mass murderer.

The Kool-Aid that Jim Jones convinced his cult followers to drink was laced with cyanide, a number of sedatives, including liquid Valium, Penegram, and chloral hydrate. Other victims appear to have been murdered by poison injection, but he got rid of everybody down there. The Guyanese coroner said hundreds of bodies showed needle marks indicating foul play. Still other victims were shot, although Plaxico Burress was not seen in the vicinity. Very few fled into the jungle and survived. In all, 914 died, 633 adults and 276 children at Jonestown in Guyana. Some sources say 911 died. Their bodies were in a state of extensive decay when the authorities arrived. There was really not much time to conduct a thorough investigation. TV station KTVU San Francisco has a collection of photographs of the People’s Temple Agricultural Project. Some are quite disturbing.

Unfortunately their website implies that all the dead committed suicide. So it was the cult leader, and he had a socialist-type personality, 1978.

Just like our new national cult leader and His followers. He’s even a socialist, to boot.

Here’s another story about various gummint-run skoolz and the indoctrination going on across the country today via Rush:

Parents in Wake County, North Carolina, at an elementary school there, kids “will be required to eat in classrooms on Tuesday so they can spend two hours watching the [immaculation] on TV.” Another school is going to force the kids to eat lunch at 10:30 so that they can watch this uninterrupted. They’re then going to be required to write a paper about the historical significance of this. These will be displayed on a bulletin board somewhere. This will make sure the project is carried out, and some parents are saying that they’re going to keep kids home if the school doesn’t show it. Some say they won’t come if it is shown. I thought we were all together in this. This has never before been a requirement at schools that I know of, not Reagan, Bush, Clinton, or Bush. But the oath of office doesn’t seem to be the thing. But no, they’re going to watch the whole thing, the parade and all that. They must, and they’re going to write essays about it.

Say “Sieg Heil” to the nice people. Something right out of Nazi Germany, the former Soviet Union, Cuber, Venezuela, the NorKorComs, just about any totalitarian state you can name.

You vill bow down and vership Dear Leader and you vill like it.

Sorry. Not me. Not. My. President. I don’t want a seat at His table. I don’t want Him to succeed, because if He succeeds, America fails.

And yes, I still as ashamed on this country as I was on the night of the anointment in November.

Two More Closures

Two more original parts of Regency Mall in Racine are gone.

First, the Regency Cinema will close in mid-April. Originally a first-run venue for movies when it was built, it became a budget cinema featuring second-run films following the opening of the new Marcus Cinema at the Renaissance on Highway 20 in November 2006.

Now it will close and the building most likely be razed, leaving yet another vacant piece of land surrounding the mall, like the former Chi-Chi’s.

Now, word comes that one of the mall’s original tenants, Waldenbooks, will close at the end of the business day on Saturday.

Waldenbooks faced stiff competition from the larger Barnes & Noble across Green Bay Road from the mall.

Now, both the east and west ends of Regency Mall will be vacant except for the anchor stores, JC Penney on the west end and Boston Store on the east. The mall’s owners made a huge gamble that didn’t pay off several years ago by terminating leases and evicting tenants on the JC Penney end of the mall to make room for Linens N Things and Steve & Barry’s, two national retailers who recently went bankrupt nationally and closed all stores.

Regency Mall is left with noticeable vacancies on both ends. Could we be seeing the evolution of a dead mall? Stay tuned.

McNally Defends Mayor McPervert

Via Badger Blogger.

Unreal.

Shepherd Express columnist Joel McNally has more concern that law enforcement might have enticed Racine Mayor Gary Becker into a sex crime against a 14-year-old girl than the fact that an adolescent girl may have been in danger from the pervert himself.

Kevin Fischer of This Just In appears on the panel with McNally, which was featured on InterCHANGE on Channel 10 (WMVS-TV) in Milwaukee.

Fred at RDW is also outraged at McNally’s defense of Mayor Pecker.

I am sick and tired of the attacks against law enforcement operations which capture the adults who prey on children and adolescents. It’s as if they are rushing to the defense of sexual deviants yet these are the same sycophants who cry “It’s for the children” every time there is a referendum to raise taxes to give more money to failing gummint-run skoolz.

Fact is, most of them don’t care about the children. Many of them wouldn’t mind seeing sexual relationships between adults and both children and adolescents become the norm, especially same-sex relationships. There’s a reason why the movement to reclassify pedophilia and ephebophilia as “intergenerational relationships” exists. It’s also what’s hidden inside the Trojan horse of homosexual marriage.

Here’s a dirty little secret: this type of sexual perversion — pedophilia and ephebophilia — isn’t any more common now than it has in years past, but it’s easier for these perverts to act on their desires. It’s called the Internet.

At one time, sex perverts had to go down to the dirty bookstore to get their jollies. The sex pervert had to risk being seen by his neighbors, co-workers or other people who knew him. Now, he can hide behind a computer screen and troll through Internet chatrooms looking for his prey.

The irony of that scenario is that while the sex pervert thinks he’s anonymous on the Internet, he’s anything but. Computer hard drives save everything even if it’s been erased. Skilled technicians can recover transcripts of IM chats, chatroom conversations, e-mails. Anything that can nail the sex pervert. Especially something known as an IP address.

Efforts likie the ongoing program run by the DCI or media operations like Dateline NBC and the one conducted by John Mercure at WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) in Milwaukee do a significant public good by exposing these perverts and getting them away from our kids.

Gun Grabbers

Wonder why there was such a run on the purchase of firearms in the weeks following the election?

They’re coming for our guns.

H.R. 45 is the most extremist piece of gun control legislation ever to see the light of day on Capitol Hill. And it’s one giant step in the direction of complete confiscation of all privately owned firearms.

Here’s a summary:

  • It requires you to get a license for each gun that you own, thereby registering with the federal government each and every handgun and semi-automatic weapon you own. Not just the ones you purchase after this becomes law, but the ones you purchased before as well;
  • They get to look at your medical records before issuing a license to make sure you’re not crazy;
  • You have to take a gun safety class, get your picture taken, give them a copy of your birth certificate and your thumb print in order to acquire the license. You must also sign an affidavit that you will keep guns out of kids hands. The license is good for 5 years. Then you get to do it again.

Stop The ACLU has more here.

Here’s the actual bill itself. The bill’s sponsor is Rep. Bobby L. Rush (D-Ill.), last seen playing the race card when the corrupt Gov. Rod Blagojevich appointed Roland Burris to the vacant Illinois Senate seat. Rush is a dangerous extremist in the kook leftwing fringe of Congress.

Funny. You need to produce your birth certificate to purchase a firearm but not to become President of the United States. That’s about as funny as having to show your driver’s license to buy cold medicine but not to vote.

Odds of th

Christians As Pariahs

This story out of Great Britain is troubling. Jeremy Vine, a radio host for the British Bullshit Corporation, explains the extreme lack of tolerance toward Christians and their expression of faith.

He argues that society has become increasingly intolerant of the freedom to express religious views.

“You can’t express views that were common currency 30 or 40 years ago,” he said.

“Arguably, the parameters of what you might call ‘right thinking’ are probably closing.

“Sadly, along with that has come the fact that it’s almost socially unacceptable to say you believe in God.”

His comments follow the claim from Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, the head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, that Britain is an “unfriendly” place for religious people to live.

Mr. Vine, 43, is a practicing Anglican, but says he would be compromised by being more open about his faith on air.

“Just blurting it out would be destructive,” he said.

“Just because something’s true doesn’t mean you can say it. That’s quite an important principle.

“Once I put my cards on the table about my faith in discussions, it becomes problematic.”

In an interview with Reform, a magazine published by the United Reformed Church, Mr Vine says that he is forced to separate his personal beliefs from his role as a presenter.

“One of the things that I think, which may sound bizarre, is that Christ is who he said he was.

“I don’t think I’d put that out on my show; I suppose there’s a bit of a firewall between thinking that and doing the job I do.”

It’s an attitude that is becoming more prevalent here in America as well. The aggressive, confrontational attitude shown by atheists, secular progressives and others such as the likes of Michael Newdow, Rob Sherman, Those Lost Without ACLUe and the thugs from the Freedom From Religion Gestapo have changed the atmosphere here as well.

Smug, smarmy, convinced they are intellectually superior to people of faith. More belligerent, more confrontational, more aggressive and certainly less tolerant toward interestingly enough only Christians. You don’t see them taking on, oh, say, the Religion of Piece (of Arm, of Leg, of Torso).

Why? Because said religion is about as tolerant of other views. And probably would cut off their heads, like they plan on doing to the rest of us who refuse to submit to their stated desire to rule the world.

Please. I’d love just once to see them take on the jihadists. It would be worth the price of admission.

The AG On Drunk Driving

Once again, Wisconsin’s empty suit attorney general, J.B. Van RINO, misses the point.

Wisconsin’s Attorney General

The AG is on the record against making first time drunk driving offenses a crime and supports giving Wisconsin’s limp-wristed, liberal judges the option of going even more soft on repeat drunk drivers.

Madison – Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said Friday that he opposes making first-offense drunken driving a crime and would like state law changed to give judges the option of sentencing second-time offenders to probation rather than mandatory jail time.

Wisconsin is the only state that treats first-offense drunken driving as a forfeiture – and that law should “absolutely not” be changed to make it a crime, said Van Hollen.

What an embarrasment to the position of attorney general  In a state which already is a joke when it comes to dealing with drunk driving, the state’s top law enforcement official. actually supports treating first-time offenders like someone who, say, was caught speeding and actuall supports keeping second- and third-time drunk drivers out of the Crowbar Hotel.and on the streets, ready to maim and kill.

And to think this guy is the odds-on favorite to run against Gov. Jim Milhous Doyleone in 2010. Just like the vanilla guerrilla that ran against Diamond Jim in 2006 and got a whopping 45 percent of the vote, this guy will lose by at least much, since the only excitement he will genreate is from the blueblood countryclubbers now running the Republican Party and anyone who’d vote for a dead dog over Doyle. That’s only about 40 percent of the likely voters.

If it’s Van Hollen, put Don Doyleone down for 55 percent of the vote at minimum.
