Hurtling Toward Bankruptcy

The Congressional Budget Office is taking a far less rose-colored glasses view of the budgets of Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama‘s budget would produce $9.3 trillion in deficits over the next decade, more than four times the deficits of Republican George W. Bush’s presidency, congressional auditors said Friday.

The new Congressional Budget Office figures offered a far more dire outlook for Obama’s budget than the new administration predicted just last month — a deficit $2.3 trillion worse. It’s a prospect even the president’s own budget director called unsustainable.

In his White House run, Obama assailed the economic policies of his predecessor, but the eye-popping deficit numbers threaten to swamp his ambitious agenda of overhauling health care, exploring new energy sources and enacting scores of domestic programs.

The dismal deficit figures, if they prove to be accurate, inevitably raise the prospect that Obama and his Democratic allies controlling Congress would have to consider raising taxes after the recession ends or else pare back his agenda.

By CBO’s calculation, Obama’s budget would generate deficits averaging almost $1 trillion a year of red ink over 2010-2019.

Worst of all, CBO says the deficit under Obama’s policies would never go below 4 percent of the size of the economy, figures that economists agree are unsustainable. By the end of the decade, the deficit would exceed 5 percent of gross domestic product, a dangerously high level

Change we can believe in. This doesn’t include cap-and-trade, The Messiah’s energy bill and the government takeover of the health care system.

This is a fiscal black hole. And shame on politicians on both sides of the aisle who at best stood by and let this happen and at worst were willing participants.

A Maximum Wage?

This may be the foundation for such an idea as a maximum wage.

Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama wants government regulation and oversight of not just banks and Wall Street firms but other businesses outside that area.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration will call for increased oversight of executive pay at all banks, Wall Street firms and possibly other companies as part of a sweeping plan to overhaul financial regulation, government officials said.

Officials said the proposal would seek a broad new role for the Federal Reserve to oversee large companies, including major hedge funds, whose problems could pose risks to the entire financial system.

It will propose that many kinds of derivatives and other exotic financial instruments that contributed to the crisis be traded on exchanges or through clearinghouses so they are more transparent and can be more tightly regulated. And to protect consumers, it will call for federal standards for mortgage lenders beyond what the Federal Reserve adopted last year, as well as more aggressive enforcement of the mortgage rules.

It plays off something The Messiah said to Jay Leno on The Tonight Show on Thursday. From the transcript:

But the larger problem is we’ve got to get back to an attitude where people know enough is enough, and people have a sense of responsibility and they understand that their actions are going to have an impact on everybody. And if we can get back to those values that built America …

Translated: if you don’t voluntarily limit yourself, government will limit you. And if you try to achieve as much as you can, then you are not being responsible and we will make you responsible.

The Second Coming of Christ’s statement that those are the values that built America show either His sheer ignorance of what this country is all about or willful disregard of our country’s history.

America has always been about rugged individualism, being the best that you can be, pursuing success and understanding and accepting the risks. Not this “we’re all in this together” collectivist nonsense. Not this “I am going to hold myself back because my succeeding comes at the expense of others” line of Barbra Streisand (B.S.) that stems from the outcome based education pabulum that has ruined our gummint-run skoolz.

It’s nobody’s business — not the Chocolate Jesus, not Bela Pelosi, not Chuck-U Schumer, not Bawney Fwank, not Dingy Harry, not anyone — what your goals and aspirations are or what mine are, and it’s not their right to place limitations on those goals and aspirations and achievement.

This is not and should not become an egalitarian society when the only thing spread around to everyone is mediocrity. The Declaration of Indepedence says:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

How dare any socialist bastard step in and revoke the promises of this country as envisioned by its Founding Fathers.

Mandatory National Service On Track

The formation of the citizen national security force equivalent to the U.S. military that Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama talked about during the campaign is on track to become reality with the passage of the GIVE Act by the House of Representatives.

H.R. 1388 passed by a wide margin, 321-105 with 105 RINOs joining with the Democrats to pass the bill. One of those RINOs who thinks we should be coerced into national service is Rep. Tom Petri of Wisconsin. Only one Democrat voted against it.

This is the next step to creating a Brownshirt Brigade. The bill reauthorizes the the National and Community Service Act of 1990 and the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973 through 2014 but tucked into the bill is the creation of the new “volunteer” corps.

  • It calls for the development of “a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people.”
  • It requires uniforms to be worn by the so-called volunteers (participation would be mandatory, so it’s not volunteer).
  • It provides for the creation of a public service academy (think an ACORN version of West Point) with multiple campuses, which would conduct the mandatory training.
  • It calls for all Americans to be “expected to perform national service or were required to perform a certain amount of national service.”

Say “Sieg Heil” to the nice people. No one, except possibly infants, would be excluded. This bill is on its way to the Senate and is halfway to becoming reality, folks.

The same “volunteerism” that kept America running since the days of its founding, wiped out with the stroke of a pen, will no longer be volunteerism.  It becomes forced labor and like the practice of another era, presses American citizens of all ages and creeds, unknowingly into military service.

The Give Act puts the finishing touches to Public Allies New Leadership for New Times, modeled after Saul Alinsky’s “Peoples Organizations” and operating under Michelle Obama with an alleged operating budget of more than $75-million a year. According to a Fact Sheet About Public Allies, “President Obama was a member of the founding advisory board of the non-profit organization. Michelle Obama was the founding Executive Director of Public Allies Chicago from Spring, 1993 until Fall 1996 (italics CFP’s). She served on Public Allies national board of directors from 1997 until 2002. Obama was no longer on the board when Michelle was hired.

H.R. 1388 goes straight to the heart of volunteerism in America, impacting everything from the lemonade stands of neighborhood children, to the residents of senior citizens homes. … The Give Act puts tow-headed school children and silver-haired seniors in the official uniform of the new State, and encompasses every walk of life in main-street America.

You might want to run, but you can’t hide from H.R. 1388.

Whether you are young or old, or firmly believe that volunteering means you are offering your time to the good of community work, you will be pressed into Obama’s National Civilian Community Corps.

Just in case you don’t want to wear the uniform and think the Corps means everybody but you, these are the citizen group H.R. 1388 proposes to cover:

“Increasing service opportunities for our Nation’s retiring professionals.

“Encourage members of the Baby Boom generation to partake in service opportunities.”

The National Civilian Community Corps is year-round and will impose itself on children away at summer camp. Even private schools will not be immune from its membership.
Down through the generations, wearing a uniform has always appealed to the sincere at heart.

According to H.R. 1388, “the Director determines appropriate “Uniforms”.

Membership is mandatory!

It’s the same program that Rahm Emanuel talks about here, in which all Americans will be required to participate. The interviewer is Ben Smith, currently of The Politico, then of the New York Daily News.

SMITH: I meant to ask you about the universal service piece of the plan. Can you tell me about it? Like, how is this going to work? Are people going to live in barracks?

EMANUEL: Universal civil defense training…I think he had it at 18, but we were saying somewhere between the ages of 18 to 25, you will do three months of training. You can do it in your(inaudible). Some point in college you can do just that. There can be nothing wrong with all Americans having a joint similar experience of civil …what we call civil defense training or civil service…some sense of service to country in preparation, which will give people a sense of what it means to be an American. We propose three months. At the end of the day someone says it should be four more. I’m not going to sit here and hold it up.

SMITH: I mean it’s a lot more than the U.S. government asks of anybody right now.

EMANUEL: Guess what? We have a lot more challenges, so we are going to need a lot to do it.

SMITH: I mean I don’t mean to get hung up on the aesthetics of it, but like uniforms…is it like Europe…people go absent

EMANUEL: If you’re worried about going to have to do 50 jumping jacks, the answer is “yes.”

SMITH: Are you kinda shifting the “country-esque” Army bases in the Summers? I mean… I wonder how it’s going work. This is people’s experiences. It’s so abstract. Do you go nine to five in some course in a Red Cross building?

EMANUEL: The whole idea there is it will be worked on you can do it through your State-National guard could be the vehicle for that. The goal here wasn’t to sit here and work on piece of legislation for ya’ and all that, but that’s one venue of doing it.

SMITH: I’m a little hung up on the Barracks.

EMANUEL: Is there a reason? Do you want to talk about it? Do you have Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage on this? Are you worried about this in some capacity?

SMITH: No, I’m just…just curious

EMANUEL: Rather than figure out if you take a train ride or a barrack, think of it this way: it will be a common experience, and you’ll be prepared. God forbid there’s a chemical hit, there’s another terrorist act, or a natural disaster (which are coming more frequent), there will be a body of citizens who are ready and capable and trained. That’s all you have to think about. We’re all here for you, ok? It’s a circle of love.

Sullivan, if you recall, bought the tinfoil hat conspiracy wacko garbage that Bristol Palin, the governor’s oldestr daughter, was really Trig’s mother, not the governor because somehow she had some sort of maternal look when she held Trig.

Blowback On Making Vets Pay For Care

You won’t find this in the Drive By Media as of yet, but you will find it at of all places, the PuffHo.

Seems Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama is getting guff from His own party on Capitol Hill about His plan to make U.S. troops injured in combat pay for their own treatment, either through private medical insurance or out of their own pockets, which would include deductibles.

Democrats in Congress are organizing to squash a White House proposal that would require veterans to use private insurance to pay for treatment of their combat and service-related injuries.

In a letter being sent to the White House, a group of House Democrats, led by Rep. Glenn Nye (D-VA), warned that such a proposal “could harm our veterans and their families in unintended, yet very serious ways, jeopardizing their families’ health care and even negatively affecting veterans’ employment opportunities.”

“While we strongly support your plans to increase funding for the VA by $25 billion over the next five years,” the letter reads, “it is with equal conviction that we oppose the proposal to bill veterans’ private health insurance plans for care and treatment of service-connected injuries or disabilities.”

We already knew that the Mom in Tennis Shoes, Sen. Patty Murray (Empty Suit-Wash.) called the plan DOA in Congress. Now more Democrats are speaking out against this awful plan.

Remember: we have $900 million to give to the terrorists from Hamas, we have millions to build bike paths and water parks everywhere, we have billions to give free health care to illegal aliens and 30-year-old “children” under the BullSCHIP expansion — but not one red cent for U.S. troops injured in combat fighting the jihadists that the White House apparently supports.
