The Pledge

Over at Power Line, Paul Mirengoff is asking the U.S. Senators from Virginia to take the following pledge regarding Obamacare:

My Pledge to My Constituents on National Health Insurance

1. I will not vote to expand the bankrupt Medicare program unless and until it is first placed on a sound actuarial basis.

2. I will not vote for any national health insurance legislation that includes a public plan unless I am prepared to enroll myself and my family in the public plan. If a national health insurance bill with a public plan passes the Senate with my vote in support, then I pledge to enroll myself and my family in that public plan.

All of our congresscritters and both Senators should be asked to take the same pledge here in Wisconsin. For the record, I know which ones will take it and which ones won’t.

And any member of Congress who would force this crap sandwich down the throats of his or her constituents while exempting themselves and their family from it is a real crapweasel.

Anti-Obama Business Targeted

H/T to Gateway Pundit.

Looks like selling conservative merchandise, especially shirts and buttons calling for the impeachment of Our Lord and Savior is about to get a business owner kicked out of a mall owned by major supporters of The Messiah.

Loren Spivack owns Free Market Warrior, a kiosk at the Concord Mills mall in North Carolina. Some Apostle of the Second Coming of Christ wrote a letter in the local state-run media outlet criticizing Spivack and accusing him of promoting racism, sexism and slavery — simply for opposing the Chocolate Jesus.

Next thing Spivack knows, the lease on his kiosk is not being renewed by the mall’s owners. Gee, I wonder why. Never mind that opposing socialism, communism and Marxism is opposing slavery, since those ideologies make the individual a slave to the state. But I guess just opposing Barack Hussein Obama makes you a racist in the eyes of the Kool-Aid drinking true believers.

Concord Mills is owned by Simon Properties, who also own nearby Gurnee Mills. The owners of Simon were huge financial contributors to The Anointed One in the 2008 election cycle.

Does local mall management have the right to not renew leases of tenants? Of course they do. But doing so should make business sense, not targeting a business owner because of his political beliefs.

During the Bush presidency, I had numerous chances to see anti-Bush T-shirts and items in kiosks, in T-shirt shops and places like Spencer Gifts. Yawn, been there, done that. Images of President Bush with a Hitler moustache. Sayings like “Somewhere In Texas A Village Is Missing Its Idiot.” Real kneeslappers. In addition to “Impeach Bush.” Every year, the calendar shop that sets up operations in our local mall after Labor until the end of the year had anti-Bush calendars (now it will be anti-Palin calendars).

So what? It’s political free speech, unless The Christos is the target. Then it’s hate speech and must be muzzled.

Ruining The Day For The Likes of ACORN

Red State tells us step by step just how to ruin the Astroturf protests of the likes of ACORN — the Association of Corrupted Organizations Registering Non-Voters — and other community organizers left-wing rabblerousers.

  1. Figure out which professional agitation group typically runs faux-populist demonstrations in your area.
  2. Subscribe to their email list and/or website.
  3. DO NOT ENGAGE THEM IN CONVERSATION AND/OR DISCUSSION. You merely want to keep up with what they’re doing.
  4. When they announce a protest, note the time and date.
  5. Contact your local, actual conservative grassroots group.
  6. On the day of the event, swamp them ten to one. (Via Instapundit)
  7. Nicely.
  8. Politely.
  9. Smile a lot.
  10. Bring cameras. Because they’re going to violate 7, 8, & 9 themselves, and you want that recorded.

The Flow Chart Behind ObamaCare

Via No Runny Eggs, here is an organization flow chart showing what the government-run health care plan being fastracked by the Democrats Statists in Congress and being pushed by Our Lord and Savior looks like.

I tried reproducing it here but it’s impossible. Click on the link to NRE and you can see it in its entirety.

Oh, Steve at NRE also points out that House Democrats Statists won’t allow House Republicans to mail that chart out to their constituents.

ACORN Goes Nuts

Via Michelle Malkin comes video of a group of the taxpayer-financed goons from ACORN — the Association of Corrupted Organizations for Registering Non-Voters — trying to shout down a group of peaceful protesters making their viewpoint known on the proposed government takeover of the health care system.

Clearly this criminal enterprise which has engaged in criminal activities from voter registration and election fraud to extortion has zero tolerance for any dissent.

A related note: a link to an earlier Malkin column explaining just who’s financing this alleged grassroots campaign for government-run health care. Hint:there’s no grassroots. More like Astroturf.

In other words, union thugs and community activists left-wing rabblerousers financed by leftwing billionaires like George Soros.

1825 K Street is Ground Zero for a plethora of “progressive” groups subsidized by anti-war, anti-Republican, Big Nanny special interests. Around Washington, the office complex is known as “The Other K Street.” The Washington Post noted in 2007 that “[i]ts most prominent tenants form an abbreviated who’s who of well-funded allies of the Democratic Party… Big money from unions such as the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, as well as the Internet-fueled MoveOn, has provided groups like those at 1825 K Street the wherewithal to mount huge campaigns.”

MoveOn, of course, is the recreational political vehicle of radical liberal sugar daddy George Soros. The magnate’s financial fingerprints are all over the HCAN coalition, which includes MoveOn; the action fund of the Center for American Progress (a Soros think tank); and the Campaign for America’s Future (a pro-welfare state lobbying outfit).

A Real Web Gem

As many of you already know, Mark Buehrle of the Chicago White Sox pitched a rarity, a perfect game against Tampa Bay.

Here’s The Catch, a real web gem by centerfielder Dewayne Wise robbing the Devil Rays’ Gabe Kapler of a HR and protecting Buehrle’s perfect game in the ninth inning of the game at Comiskey Park:
