Nick Jonas Dreams Of Being President
News: Singer Nick Jonas says he has a dream of becoming president.
Views: Why not? He couldn’t be any worse than the current occupant of the Oval Office.
What Can Be Done To Lower Energy Prices?
The Heritage Foundation lists five things that can be done very easily to lower energy prices and as a result help America’s families:
Instead of clamping down on domestic energy supplies, American energy policy should embrace these ideas:
- Expand offshore and onshore oil production into previously restricted areas, including Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, where an estimated 10 billion barrels of oil–16 years of current imports from Saudi Arabia–lie beneath a few thousand acres that can be accessed with minimal environmental impact;
- Reduce the regulatory and legal delays that can slow and sometimes stop production;
- Allow further progress on oil shale; and
- Prevent costly new anti-energy regulations from being imposed in the name of addressing global warming.
In his piece, Ben Lieberman also lists the things that are currently being done by Congress and the White House to guarantee that we will all be paying much, much higher energy prices.
Go read them and prepare to get very, very angry.
Another Race-Baiting, Commie-Praising Democrat
Rep. Diane Watson (S-Mexifornia) made some astonishing remarks at a town hall meeting in her district.
Just astonishing, but also as much revealing as to the mindset of those in control in Washington, both in Congress and the White House.
Watson praised Fidel Castro, Cuba’s communism and the communist revolution and then for good measure said the opponents of Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama are trying to destroy Him … 5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1 because He’s black and they’re racists.
Here’s audio of Watson’s diatribe (via Michelle Malkin):
Malkin has the transcript, which includes these lowlights:
They are spreading fear and they are trying to see that the first president that looks likes me fails.
Translated: They’re raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacists!
And lemme tell ya, before you say “Oh, it’s a commu–”, you need to go down there and see what Fidel Castro put in place. And I want you to know, now, you can think whatever you want to about Fidel Castro, but he was one of the brightest leaders I have ever met. [APPLAUSE]
And you know, the Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, Che Guevara did that, and then, after they took over, they went out among the population to find someone who could lead this new nation, and they found…well, just leave it there (laughs), an attorney by the name of Fidel Castro…
Praise of Castro? Check. Praise of Cuban health care system? Check. Praise of communism for gettin’ rid of those awful wealthy people? Check.
Despicable. Just despicable.
What’s almost as despicable is the gaggle of idiots who actually applauded this piece of garbage.
And yes, Rep. Watson, I hope He fails. Miserably. Colossally. And it looks like He’s well on His way to accomplishing that.
And America will be better off for it if He does.

Kennedy Memorial Stand-Up
From The Other McCain.
Seriously, folks, appropriate tributes to Ted Kennedy’s legacy are a bipartisan obligation. As a matter of fact, the Republican National Committee is now raising money to fund the Edward M. Kennedy Memorial on the national mall in Washington. A leading sculptor has already been commissioned to create a monumental statue of an inverted Oldsmobile …
We’ll be here all week, folks.
Want a cocktail? Try the Chappaquiddick. What’s a Chappaquiddick? Half Scotch, half murky water.
Just Who Wrote The Porkulus Bill?
Howard Portnoy thinks he knows. And it wasn’t Bela Pelosi, Dingy Harry and congressional Democrats Statists.
Try something even more malevolent. How about … the Apollo Alliance?
Portnoy cites a press release dated January 15, 2009, that appears on the Apollo Alliance’s website. You can read that press release here.
Take a look at this press release dated January 15, 2009. It appears on the website of the Apollo Alliance, whose mission statement identifies it as “a coalition of labor, business, environmental, and community leaders working to catalyze a clean energy revolution that will put millions of Americans to work in a new generation of high-quality, green-collar jobs.” N.B. Community leaders in this context is code for “community organizers” (why does that phrase sound familiar?). And revolution in this context is code for “community organizers sticking it to the man.”
Here’s the pullquote Portnoy cites as the smoking gun. We report, you decide:
Almost all of the clean energy, good jobs programs made public today, along with the dimension of the spending called for by Congress and the new president, track closely with the ideas and proposals advanced last year by the Apollo Alliance in The New Apollo Program and the Apollo Economic Recovery Act. [Emphasis added.]
Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama has direct ties to the Apollo Alliance through Van Jones, the current Green Jobs Czar and the man currently behind the movement to silence Glenn Beck. Here’s what Portnoy reminds us about Jones:
Jones, the man he appointed Green Jobs Czar, is a co-founder and director of the Apollo Alliance. He is also a black nationalist, former terrorist, ex-con, and self-avowed Nazi communist (though presumably all of this occurred when Obama was 8, so it doesn’t count).
Let’s see. Van Jones. Bill Ayers. Frank Marshall Davis. Jeremiah Wright. Michael Pleger. Just folks from Obama’s neighborhood … not like they’re lifelong friends.
A man is judged by the company he keeps. So is a Messiah.
