It’s The TOTUS’s Fault!

The Left had a field day with President Bush’s pronunciation of nuclear as nuk-yu-lar, despite the fact that it’s an acceptable alternative pronunciation.

Imagine if Bush had pronounced the “p” in corpsman, like Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama did three times in a speech at the National Praer Breakfast.

One such translator was an American of Haitian descent, representative of the extraordinary work that our men and women in uniform do all around the world — Navy Corpsman Christian [sic] Brossard.  And lying on a gurney aboard the USNS Comfort, a woman asked Christopher:  “Where do you come from?  What country?  After my operation,” she said, “I will pray for that country.”  And in Creole, Corpsman Brossard responded, “Etazini.”  The United States of America.

God’s grace, and the compassion and decency of the American people is expressed through the men and women like Corpsman Brossard.

The self-styled intellectual, former law professor, thought to be so much smarter than everyone else … didn’t know that the “p” in corpsman is silent.

Over at Hot Air,Ed Morrisseey names it the Obamateurism of the Day and adds:

Next time, maybe a White House staffer should make sure that all of the hard words really are spelled phonetically — or maybe our Commander in Chief should familiarize himself with the nation’s military instead.

I can’t believe that a guy with a Harvard Law degree wouldn’t know how to pronounce “corps,” so I’m guessing some dumb staffer in charge of TOTUS decided to try to “help him out” by typing the phonetic pronunciation — incorrectly — into the machine. And in true Ron Burgundy fashion, O read it as is right off the ‘prompter. You stay classy, Navy corpse-men!

Obama Trashes Las Vegas … Again

Not even a year after trashing the Las Vegas economy, Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama opened his mouth again and stuck his other foot in it, once again taking a cheap shot at the city.

President Obama is catching heat from Nevada lawmakers and business leaders regarding his comments Tuesday criticizing trips to Las Vegas.

During the president’s town hall meeting in Nashua, New Hampshire, he discussed the need to curb spending during tough economic times.  “When times are tough, you tighten your belts,” the president said. “You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don’t blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you’re trying to save for college.”

The president’s comments come nearly a year after he criticized companies that received federal money for taking corporate junkets to Las Vegas. “You can’t go take that trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on taxpayers’ dime,” he said at the time. Local business leaders say Nevada tourism suffered last year in part because companies canceled trips to Las Vegas in the wake of the president’s comments.

Just what was he thinking? Obama has the bully pulpit yet once again he calls out a single American city, one that just happens to be on Al Qaeda’s hit list, by the way.

It’s also just what Dingy Harry needed as well. The embattled Senate Majority Leader from Nevada is trailing his Republican opponents badly and, with a campaign visit from Obama on the agenda, even he struck back at the remarks:

“The President needs to lay off Las Vegas and stop making it the poster child for where people shouldn’t be spending their money,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat.

The mayor of Las Vegas isn’t taking this latest incident lying down. Via Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit:

I guess you’ve all seen the president’s remarks or read about the president’s remarks, well I’ve got some remarks of my own. I was back in Washington, D.C. about two weeks ago, going up and down the halls of the capitol telling people about our economy here, trying to get them to be sympathetic to what we’re trying to accomplish, then I have to read what President Obama said.

He has a real psychological hang up about the entertainment capitol of the world. An apology won’t be acceptable this time, I don’t know where his vendetta comes from but we’re not going to let him make his bones by lambasting Las Vegas, that’s why (the press) is here today.

He didn’t learn his lesson the first time, but when he hurt our economy by his ill conceived rhetoric, we didn’t think it would happen again, but now that it has I want to assure you, when he comes I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot back to Washington and to visit his failures back there.

I gotta tell you this, everybody says I shouldn’t say it, but I gotta tell you the way it is. This president is a real slow learner.

Maybe we can blame the teleprompter. Yeah, that’s it. The TOTUS is at fault. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

One of two things happened: either Obama went off the script (read: teleprompter), and we all know what a trainwreck that is (Worse. Than. Biden), or whoever wrote His speech thought this was a good zinger, one based on the perpetual campaign of class envy and class warfare and quite literally no one, including Obama himself, thought it was a negative.

That’s even more frightening.

A Shrine To The Anointed One

The People’s House at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has predictably been turned into a shrine to its occupant, the Narcissist-in-Chief, Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama.

No less a source than Ed Schultz, who (via NewsBusters) reported after visiting the White House:

First of all you walk into the White House, in the West Wing, and there are pictures all over, I mean everywhere! Of President Obama! I mean, of his life in the first year as president of the United States. Now I don’t know if that’s the way it is with every president, but it was almost a shrine. I mean, well, here’s a picture of Obama the president with his kids over here. There he is getting on Air Force One. Here he is with some military people. Here he is on the line working the line at one of his campaign stops. I mean, just, it was just one picture after another! And so I got the message right away that there’s nothing but Obama fans in the White House which I think is a good thing. ‘Cause it’s always good to have the team together, right

NB’s Jack Coleman observes:

I’m not sure which is more bizarre — Schultz not realizing this doesn’t speak well of Obama, or Schultz saying “I got the message right away that there’s nothing but Obama fans in the White House.”

Anti-Christian/Anti-Catholic Bigots Target Stamp

The jackbooted thugs of Freedom From Religion Gestapo Foundation are – steady – targeting the United States Postal Service for issuing a commemorative stamp of Mother Teresa as a violation of the establishment clause of the First Amendment.

An atheist organization is blasting the U.S. Postal Service for its plan to honor Mother Teresa with a commemorative stamp, saying it violates postal regulations against honoring “individuals whose principal achievements are associated with religious undertakings.”

The Freedom from Religion Foundation is urging its supporters to boycott the stamp — and also to engage in a letter-writing campaign to spread the word about what it calls the “darker side” of Mother Teresa.

The stamp — set to be released on Aug. 26, which would have been Mother Teresa’s 100th birthday — will recognize the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize winner for her humanitarian work, the Postal Service announced last month.

For the record, Reichfuhrer Annie Laurie Gaylor and her stormtroopers are forgetting the issuance of stamps commemorating  other religious figures such as Father Flanagan of Boys Town, Malcolm X and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Gaylor is either certifiably delusional or simply yet another narcissist who craves the attention that an idiotic stunt like this provides. You know, like the child who acts up simply to obtain attention, even if it is the wrong kind of attention.

And the “dark side” of Mother Teresa???? That’s ludicrous, more proof that anything that comes out of the Freedom From Religion group is motivated by pure hatred.

Even some atheists are speaking out:

Some atheists, too, spoke out against the group’s objections, including Bruce Sheiman, author of “An Atheist Defends Religion.” He said the Freedom from Religion Foundation is being “hypocritical” and really “stepping over the line.”

“Clearly there are a number of things that you can point to and say it’s religious and a number of things you can point to and say that it’s areligious,” Sheiman told FoxNews.com. “So it really doesn’t make sense to protest it.”

But protest it hate-filled bigots like Annie Laurie Gaylor will. Notice, too, bigots like Gaylor never target Judaism or – heaven forbid – the Religion of Piece (of Arm, of Leg, of Torso). It’s only Christianity. They’re clearly not offended by religions other than Christianity being in the public arena.

Bigots. There’s no other word to describe them.

At the time of her death, 610 missions were operating in 123 countries. The work being done at these missions included: hospices, homes for people suffering from diseases such as leprosy and HIV/AIDS, caring for the disabled, alcoholics, refugees, victims of natural disasters, the poor and the blind, soup kitchens, orphanages, and so on. But I guess because she was, after all, first and foremost a Catholic nun who didn’t struggle with her mission of humanitarian relief in a little hut on the side of some road in Calcutta, we should completely ignore all the good she was able to do. She was successful in helping thousands upon thousands of people around the world, but because she was Catholic, all of that should just be ignored? To the Freedom from Religion Foundation, a better person to look up to (and whose stamp we should all buy) is Katharine Hepburn… an actress and an atheist.

The Affirmative Action POTUS

Because someone has to say it.

Barack Hussein Obama is the affirmative action President. Selected based on the color of his skin, not as a result of competence or any accomplishments in his sketchy life.

Over at The American Thinker, James Lewis (via Kathy Shaidle) looks at just how using affirmative action to choose a President has impacted America:

The lesson of the Obama presidency is exactly the opposite of what our stuck-on-stupid media are telling us. It is that we must never, ever hire, promote, or elect somebody to a position of power and responsibility merely because of his race. Abraham Lincoln would not have been surprised. Neither would Martin Luther King, Jr. Even the editors of the New York Times choose schools for their kids not by race, but by educational competence. Somehow the American people have forgotten their common sense while Obama was rifling their wallets.

The captain is drunk in the deckhouse, and the ship of state is heading for the rocks. Our enemies are trying to take advantage of our failure to elect even sensible leadership. If you don’t think al-Qaeda, Ahmadinejad, and the Russians will try to screw us royally under this perverse and incompetent leadership, just wait a month or two. The Chinese have taken the measure of this guy. So have the other jackals prowling around the small campfire of civilization. They know he’s a pushover, and they will act accordingly. The only question is how badly we’ll get burned.

The Left have advocated suicidal policies, and now they have found their way to power. But ultimately this is a failure of the American people, of our pathetic excuse for a media, and of the anti-American hatred that pervades the Left.

Yes, God protects orphans, widows, and the United States. But you can rely on pure dumb luck for only a little while before the ship of state comes to grief on that unforgiving iceberg.

Once again, Barack Hussein Obama is the poster child for affirmative action. He is president because his father was black, an African national and British citizen from Kenya. A Halfrican-American, if you will. No. Other. Reason.

Voters chose him because of the color of his skin. Or, light-skinned with hardly a Negro accent, if you are Dingy Harry.

The implication from the state-run media, fawning and swooning over the Hugo Chavez wannabe were clear: reject Obama, and the American people will forever be tarred as racist, choosing instead an old, white guy over a young, photogenic, well-spoken — or clean and articulate if you are Joe Biden — black man.

Now, all you have to do is criticize Obama or his policies, and you are branded as raaaaacist! Yes, there are 5 a’s in raaaaacist!

Earlier, Lewis hits a home run with this observation:

Nobody can point to Obama’s anti-terrorist policies and say that’s wildly incompetent — without fearing they will be accused of racism.

And it’s not just Our Lord and Savior’s dangerous approach to dealing with terrorism man-made disasters. Criticize porkulus? Raaaaacist! Criticize ObamaCare? Raaaaacist! Criticize the Obamas’ opulent lifestyle? Raaaaacist! And so on.
