Best reference I saw to ObamaCare yesterday was on Twitter. It broke Godwin’s Law but was funny as heck:

And, given the fact that 17,000 Gestapo agents will be hired for enforcement of the mandate, is it really out of the realm of reality to visualize opponents of ObamaCare and patriots refusing to comply with the fascist individual mandate — which is unconstitutional — winding up in places like this:

For those of you who do not recognize it, that is the main gate at the former Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz.

By the way, these 17,000 stormtroopers being sent out to enforce NaziCare are no different than these guys:

This is the federal government declaring war on its citizens, from whom it gets the power to govern, not rule. As Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence:

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. — Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government.

Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama sending out 17,000 stormtroopers to enforce His edicts cannot help but end violently in many cases, as people faced with the prospects of being hauled off to Auschwitz federal prison for noncompliance with an unconstitutional edict will fight back against the state. You can go to the bank on that.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

My suggestion? If you don’t have guns, buy them. If you do, buy more ammo.

White House: Rush Was Right

The White House admitted that the Kabuki Theater put on at the Blair House on February 25 allowed the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the USA, and the Democrats Statists in Congress a second chance to claim that they really had sought Republican input and without had no choice to move on without them.

In other words, the Stupid Party strikes again.

From The Prowler at The American Spectator, one White House aide said:

It allowed us to create the impression that Republicans had had a hand. It allowed the President afterward to claim he had included Republican proposals in the bill, and gave us a clear path to moving the process along, where before we didn’t. Your Republican friends will disagree, but the minute they agreed to that meeting, we knew we were at the least back in business.

Another White House aide opined:

If the Republicans had actually listened to Rush [Limbaugh] and [Mark] Levin and [Fred] Thompson and not attended, we might have been in different situation. Before February 25, we had no momentum, you just felt it, after the summit, when the President told Republicans that if we couldn’t agree, then we’d just have to move on without them, we had a bit of a opening and no major public opinion backlash.

In other words, Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama set the trap and Republicans walked right into it.

Thanks guys. No, really. Thanks.

Page 489 Sec 1308: The Govt will cover marriage and family therapy. (Which means Govt will insert itself into your marriage even.)

Page 494-498: Govt will cover Mental Health Services including defining, creating, and rationing those services.

When the Republicans talk repeal, these are some of the objectionable provisions that should be easy to repeal, easy enough to get veto proof majorities in the 112th Congress.

The Stamp Act

The irony of this (via Publius at Big Government): On this date in 1765, Parliament enacted the toxic Stamp Act on the American colonies.

A summary of the Stamp Act:

The new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Ship’s papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed. The money collected by the Stamp Act was to be used to help pay the costs of defending and protecting the American frontier near the Appalachian Mountains (10,000 troops were to be stationed on the American frontier for this purpose).

The actual cost of the Stamp Act was relatively small. What made the law so offensive to the colonists was not so much its immediate cost but the standard it seemed to set. In the past, taxes and duties on colonial trade had always been viewed as measures to regulate commerce, not to raise money. The Stamp Act, however, was viewed as a direct attempt by England to raise money in the colonies without the approval of the colonial legislatures. If this new tax were allowed to pass without resistance, the colonists reasoned, the door would be open for far more troublesome taxation in the future.

The Stamp Act was eventually repealed by Parliament. Publius notes:

We have 8-9 months to create a GOP that will have the stomach to repeal the legislation that passed last night. They don’t have the spine for it now….but they will before the year is out.

Silver Linings In A Very Dark Cloud

From John Hindraker at Power Line come some silver linings in the darkest day this country has ever seen, with the possible exception of November 4, 2008:

[T]here are many reasons for optimism. Here are a few:

  • The health care battle is just beginning. Next, the Senate will try to enact the House’s “fixes” to the original Senate bill. Some Senators say that won’t happen. If not, then President Obama has the option of signing the original Senate bill–now passed by the House–Cornhusker Kickback and all. I assume he would do that, but the resulting blowback from House Democrats, not to mention the American people, would be something to behold.
  • The health care bill’s taxes will go into effect promptly, but its substantive provisions are, for the most part, deferred for four years. This means that we have plenty of time to repeal the legislation. Sure, it will take a new Congress and new President. But repealing this disaster of a bill will by a rallying cry for the American people for years to come. Moreover, even if the Republicans only take over the House in November, and not the Senate, won’t it be possible to throw roadblocks in the way of the bill’s implementation? Won’t budget appropriations be necessary to sustain the various federal tentacles the bill seeks to establish? What will happen if the House simply refuses to fund them?
  • I’ve never been prouder to be a Republican. The party’s Congressional leaders have fought this battle to the end on behalf of the American people–with intelligence, toughness, persistence and good humor. The contrast between the parties has never been starker than in today’s debate. If any intelligent Democrats were watching–there must be some left–they had to be embarrassed for their party.
  • Paul Ryan has emerged as one of the conservative movement’s strongest spokesmen. In the years to come, I think we will hear the words “I’m a Paul Ryan Republican” with increasing frequency.
  • The health care debate has energized the conservative movement and awoken the sleeping giant, that is, the American people. The Democrats misinterpreted their electoral victories in 2006 and 2008 as a mandate for socialism. Now a majority of voters are intent on disabusing them of that misapprehension. Just about all of the political energy today is on the right–a remarkable fact, only sixteen months after the Democrats’ high-water mark in November 2008.
  • Barack Obama has used his political capital–pretty much all of it–on unpopular legislation that will continue to rile the voters for years to come. As a result, Obama is a remarkably unpopular second-year President. And he hasn’t even experienced any bad luck yet. It is hard to see how he will be able to regain his footing.
