Crist Bolts Florida GOP

Chalk this down as yet another Epic FAIL for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Limpwristed Obama-embracing RINO Charlie Crist is bolting the Republican Party, having sucked up NRSC money to go along with an endorsement to run for the U.S. Senate as an independent, seeing as he was about to get trounced in the GOP primary by Marco Rubio, the real conservative in the race and a rising star in the Republican Party.

Rubio also received the backing of Vice President Dick Cheney:

Washington is broken and Congress is already overflowing with politicians who need pollsters to tell them what to think. It certainly doesn’t need another one. Now more than ever America needs leaders with the strength of conviction. That is why I am proud to endorse Marco Rubio.

Allahpundit reminds us of just how good Charlie Crist’s word is here with a transcript of an exchange from last month between Crist and Chris Wallace, the host of Fox News Sunday:

WALLACE: So are you ruling out that you will file as an independent by the April 30th deadline?

CRIST: That’s right. That’s right. I’m running as a Republican.

WALLACE: You will run not for a governor — you’ll run for Senate, and you will run as a — in the Republican primary.

CRIST: Chris, I’m running for the United States Senate. I know that our country needs help. I’m running as a Republican. This man to my left is a friend but I hope to defeat him on August the 24th, and I would encourage every Florida Republican to get out and vote.

WALLACE: Will you support the winner of the GOP primary, whether it’s you or Marco Rubio?

CRIST: Of course I will. Of course I will. But I think before that decision is made, people–

WALLACE: Well, I’m going to get — I’m going to — I’ll give you an opportunity for a final statement. I just want to say, though, you are saying you are going to run in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate. You will not run on the no party affiliation line.

CRIST: That’s right. That’s right. That’s what I’m saying.

To quote El Rushbo, a two-bit, phony-baloney, plastic-banana, good ol’ time rock-and-roller.

Rich Lowry analyzes why this will turn out to be an Epic FAIL for Crist and the end of his political career here.

Red State’s Erick Erickson notes that Crist refuses to give back the money donated to him while he was running under the guise of a Republican and also reminds us of some of the enlightening quotes made about Crist by establishment GOP hacks like Mel Martinez, John McCain, John Cornyn and Lindsey Grahamnesty.

Every sitting Republican member of the U.S. Senate that went for Crist needs to be retired in a GOP primary and replaced with a real conservative. It’s hacks like those that have led the party away from Ronald Reagan conservatism.

What To Do With Illegal Aliens?

No doubt Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama and His henchmen on Capitol Hill have their plan drawn up to grant blanket amnesty to illegal aliens.

They need all of those likely votes for Democrats and The Messiah Himself in 2012.

And we have enabling Republicans like John McCain and Lindsey Grahamnesty working overtime to help the Republican Party commit suicide by advancing shamnesty plans alongside of Chuck-U Schumer.

If anything like that passes, say goodbye to any GOP majority in Congress or a GOP president for at least a generation. Democrats need votes; they’re going to get wiped out in November and without a massive infusion of new constituencies, the Chocolate Jesus won’t get His second term — or His third or fourth (yes, I am predicting if He wins a second term, He will not leave office no matter what the Constitution says, but that’s another topic).

That said, we need to do something about illegal immigration. We are not anti-immigration here. My grandparents were immigrants. Came through Ellis Island. But we are anti-illegal immigration. No nation that refuses to safeguard its borders will remain a nation for long. Not only is a porous border a national security threat (read: jihadists), it’s also a threat to our national economy with all of the freeloaders coming into the United States to sponge off taxpayers, many of whom are legal immigrants.

Rounding up every single illegal alien, while removing the criminal illegals from our prisons, our welfare rolls, our voting rolls (thank you, ACORN), etc., and getting rid of the child molesters and gang members, would also remove people who came to the United States seeking a better life. People frustrated by the Rube Goldberg-like process of legal immigration. Over the years, we’ve made it harder for people to immigrate to America legally.

Via JoAnne Moretti, here’s a viable plan for dealing with the illegal immigration problem, rewarding those honestly seeking a better life in America, like my grandparents, advocating the learning of English and assimilation into the distinct American culture, again like the immigrants of the melting pot era, and getting rid of the criminals, freeloaders and those refusing to assimilate.

It concludes with this:

Earned citizenship instead of blanket amnesty.

Read the whole thing.

Spreading The Wealth

Guess what?

Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama, the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the USA, has managed to get his income redistribution program into high gear.

You recall, the one He explained to Joe the Plumber in terms anyone could understand — other than the lobotomized Kool-Aid drinkers who follow Him:

Real income under The Messiah has fallen 3.2 percent. By comparison, with a recession, real income dipped only 0.4 percent under the first 15 months of George W. Bush’s presidency.

“This is hardly surprising,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, an economist and former director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. “Under President Obama, only federal spending is going up; jobs, business startups, and incomes are all down. It is proof that the government can’t spend its way to prosperity.”

Tell that to the tax-and-spendocrats in Washington. More taxes coming with the government takeover of health care, the revived massive carbon tax, the lurking European-style VAT, etc.

You know what income redistribution is … socialism. When the government takes your hard-earned income and gives it to someone else. Doesn’t spread prosperity around, but rather mediocrity.

As William J. H. Boetcker wrote in 1916, a quote often misattributed to Abraham Lincoln:

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatreds.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

American voters have the chance to say “Enough!” this November.

What? Me Worry?

No, not Alfred E. Neumann.

A congresscritter from the Quad Cities area of Illinois. What isn’t he worried about? The U.S. Constitution, something he had sworn to uphold.

Prepare to say hello to forced retirement courtesy of the voters in November, Rep. Phil Hare, a Democrat Statist from Illinois.

Hare is under fire today for saying he “doesn’t care” about the Constitutionality of the health care reform bill on camera during a public forum yesterday in Quincy, according to wqad.com. He was heckled and booed during the appearance, then gave Republicans the fuel they were looking for when he made the comment about the Constitution.

He was caught on camera saying: ”I don’t worry about the constitution on this to be honest,” and the video of him saying it has been used as amo for his Republican opponent. The person holding the camera then says, “Jackpot!”

Here’s the video:

From another account of the meeting:

Rep. Hare is seated, arguing with several people who cannot be seen in the recording about the bill.

He is using an example of someone having to take their child to the hospital while not having insurance and being stuck with a hefty medical bill when someone began to ask “Where in the Constitution…”

Rep. Hare cuts the man off and says “I don’t worry about the Constitution on this to be honest…”

The man begins to laugh, cutting the congressman off, and says “Jackpot, brother.”

“I care more about the people that are dying every day that don’t have health insurance,” Rep. Hare goes on to say.

“You care more about that than the Constitution you swore to uphold,” the man replies.

“I believe it says we have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” Rep. Hare tells him.

The argument continues with the first man telling Rep. Hare that it is “unbelievably clear that the Constitution doesn’t matter to you.” The two men also argued whether the bill will actually provide insurance to people who don’t have it.

Another person argues with Rep. Hare over how many times Rep. Hare read the bill. He was critical of whether the congressman actually read the bill — which he said was 8,100 pages long — three times.

“Are you calling me a liar?” Rep. Hare asks him.

“I am,” that man replies.

“Oh that’s pleasant,” the congressman tells him and begins to leave the room.

The man mocks him: “Oh, heaven forbid you have to answer your constituents.”

Rep. Hare turns and tells the man: “I answered it and you told me I was a liar.”

“Because you are,” the man says.

Rep. Hare turns back towards the door and leaves, not answering the man as he asks repeatedly how long it took Mr. Hare to read the bill three times.

As Rep. Hare gets into his vehicle, another person asks, “Hey where in the Constitution does it say I have to purchase health insurance or gives you the authority to make me?”

The vehicle begins to pull away and that person says “Better start looking for a job.”

Start warming up this for Rep. Hare:

More Wisconsin Jobs Disappear

Another 130 or so jobs have disappeared on Gov. Jim Milhous Doyleone‘s watch as America’s Worst Governor.

Aacer Flooring in Peshtigo is closing its doors.

Tick-tock. No, not the Ke$ha song.

We’re counting down the days until Diamond Jim leaves office with his tail between his legs.

More jobs lost … while Doyle and Tom Barrett try to figure out how to spend $810 million for a car-speed choo-choo from Milwaukee to the Madison airport … another waste of money that won’t create one single job.

Doyle and Democrat pals have done everything in their power to kill every last job in Wisconsin.

We have a chance to fix the eight-year trainwreck in November.

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday on the Christian calendar, the day Jesus Christ was crucified under directions of the Roman governor Pontius Pilate.

From the Gospel according to John, Chapter 19:

1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. 2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, 3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. 5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

8 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid; 9 And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. 12 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.

13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.

14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

After that, Christ was led away to Calvary to be crucified with two thieves.

Once again from the Gospel according to John, Chapter 19:

17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: 18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

19And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. 20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. 22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. 24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 29Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. 32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: 34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. 35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. 36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. 37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Another Hidden Surprise

Remember what Bela Pelosi said? “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it.”

Yet another crap sandwich has been located in the 2,700 pages of manure passed by the House of Representatives and signed into law by Our Lord and Savior.

From Right Bias via Hyscience comes another hidden gem in ObamaCare NaziCare: a payroll deduction of up to $240 a month after your employer automatically enrolls you in a government long-term care program.

Hidden in the fine print of the health care bill is yet another entitlement program that is being foisted on already overburdened American workers. The program purports to offer long term care, and hidden in the fine print is a new government right to automatically deduct $146.00 to $240.00 a month from the paychecks of unsuspecting workers.

If you’re one of the lucky few that still gets a paycheck, be advised that your employer is going to automatically enroll you in this latest money grab by the government. Of course, you have the right to opt-out. Once you find out about it.

One can only hope that the opt-out procedure won’t be as complicated as the opt-out provision for union membership. If it is, you could be paying this monthly donation for months, or even years, until your opt-out application is perfected and processed.

That, of course, is a tax. An automatic payroll deduction remitted to Uncle Sam Barack. Thank you, O Lamb of God, that taketh away the sins of the USA.

Another broken promise: remember His promise that no one who makes less than $250,000 would see their taxes increase one dime? More empty rhetoric. How’s that Hope and Change workin’ out for ya

Let’s see: my monthly take-home pay is around $1,000, give or take, based on the number of days I am called in. No vacation days, no sick days, no benefits of any kind. Straight hourly wage. I’m sure I can afford to do without an additional $240 a month … what do I give up? Food?

Repeal. Replace. Reform. Starting in January 2011.

Obama Approval Dropping

And this is in a See BS News poll no less.

Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama’s approval keeps falling like the proverbial Acme anvil, at 44 percent.

Last week, President Obama signed historic health care reform legislation into law — but his legislative success doesn’t seem to have helped his image with the American public.

The latest CBS News Poll, conducted between March 29 and April 1, found Americans unhappier than ever with Mr. Obama’s handling of health care – and still worried about the state of the economy.

President Obama’s overall job approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 44 percent, down five points from late March, just before the health bill’s passage in the House of Representatives. It’s down 24 points since his all-time high last April. Forty-one percent of those polled said they disapproved of the president’s performance.

Of course, the Perpetual Campaigner continues to hit the road to sell a program few people want. This cannot be helping him. It reinforces an image of a politician who cannot govern, opting instead to campaign, campaign and campaign. Uh, I believe it was Mr. Obama who told his 2008 opponent, Sen. McCain, that the campaign was over. Why doesn’t He realize it Himself?

Telling the American people to “go for it,” in effect issuing a challenge to repeal ObamaCare NaziCare wasn’t the smartest thing to do, either. Polls continue to show deep disapproval for the federal government takeover of health care and having one of the three main faces of the takeover in the face of a disapproving American public challenging them to do something about it is the act of a tyrant, not a leader.

Couple of other tidbits from the poll:

When it comes to health care, the President’s approval rating is even lower — and is also a new all-time low. Only 34 percent approved, while 55 percent said they disapproved …

As has often been the case, lower-income Americans tend to be the most concerned about job loss.

This concern is reflected in yet another low approval rating — this time for the President’s handling of the economy. Just 42 percent said they approved of how President Obama is handling the economy, only one point above January’s all-time low. Half of the public disapproves.
