Polling Conservative Bloggers

John Hawkins of Right Wing News polled a number of conservative bloggers over the issues of race, discrimination and racism and came up with some very interesting results.

Here are the last four questions and the results:

8. Do you think the majority of accusations of racism in politics today are false?

A) Yes: 100% (62 votes)
B) No: 0% (0 votes)

9. Do you think that NAACP would better be described as a group that...

A) Represents black Americans: 0% (0 votes)
B) Represents liberal black Americans: 100% (62 votes)

10. Which of following do you think best describes Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton?

A) People are genuinely trying to fight against racism and injustice: 1.6% (1 votes)
B) People who make mostly false accusations of racism to get attention, make money, or for political gain: 93.7% (59 votes)
C) Not sure: 4.8% (3 votes)

11. Do you believe that the Democratic Party falsely tries to convince black & hispanic Americans that Republicans hate them as a political strategy?

A) Yes, they do: 100% (63 votes)
B) No, they don’t: 0% (0 votes)
C) Most Republicans do hate black & hispanic Americans: 0% (0 votes)

The poll itself reflects the reality of what is going on in politics across America and has since at least the 2008 campaign. You oppose Our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein Obama? You are a raaaaacist! You are against Him because He is black. Well, half-black. Against ObamaCare? Raaaaacist! Against repealing the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts? Raaaaacist! And yes, there are five a‘s in raaaaacist!

It’s a game that the Left has been playing for some time now. For welfare reform? Raaaaacist! Against amnesty for illegal aliens comprehensive immigration reform? Raaaaacist! Support jihadist profiling? Raaaaacist!

Now they are going all in on the strategery. And it comes right from the Race Baiter-in-Chief.

Can’t intelligently defend your point of view? Label the other guy a raaaaacist! and make him play defense and try to prove a negative.

It’s arguably the most cynical political strategery imaginable. The cry of “Raaaaacist!” is fast becoming the equivalent of crying wolf.

The Rocket Man Stands Up To PC … Again

Apparently Elton John has enough gonads to stand up to the PC bullies trying to ostracize the state of Arizona for daring to defend its southern border and do the job the federal government refuses to do.

Appearing at the Tucson Arena to a sold-out concert, Sir Elton defended S.B. 1070 and ripped his colleagues in the music industry for their boycott of Arizona over the legislation.

Via Hot Air:

Elton John didn’t mince words in slamming his fellow musicians for boycotting Arizona over the controversial SB 1070 immigration law. From the stage at his sold-out Tucson Arena concert Thursday night, John savored a few choice, not-so-family-friendly words:

“We are all very pleased to be playing in Arizona. I have read that some of the artists won’t come here. They are (expletive)wits! Let’s face it: I still play in California, and as a gay man I have no legal rights whatsoever. So what’s the (expletive) with these people?”

John has never been one to cave into political pressure from his musical colleagues. He ignored an artist boycott of Israel in June over the flotilla fiasco and played a show in Tel Aviv. He also played Rush Limbaugh’s latest wedding reception in early June, which drew the ire of gays and lesbians.

Big Hollywood’s John Nolte asks:

What’s more rock and roll? Bono, Bruce and Sting’s sanctimony or the Rocket Man’s rebellious middle finger to liberal lock-step conformity?

Allahpundit observes:

Last time we wrote about him I joked that he’ll be playing tea-party rallies soon, but now I’m thinking maybe we should aim higher. Dude, one word: Convention.

I applaud a rock legend for having the courage to stand up to the political pressures. It’s one thing to boycott South Africa in the 1980s over apartheid; it’s something completely different to boycott a state for trying to do the job of protecting its own border — and yes, Peggy West, Arizona does have a border with Mexico — when the federal government refuses to do the job its citizens depend on it to do.

Elton John has defied political correctness before. Refusing to join the pro-Hitler, anti-Semite crowd and boycotting Israel. Playing Rush Limbaugh’s wedding. And no, despite being a openly gay man, John is not — repeat, not — pro-gay marriage. He supports, as does Limbaugh, civil unions but also seems to be respectful of those who disagree with him.

Why can’t the rest of the holier-than-thou entertainment industry understand that?

Here’s Elton John and one of the 1980s best music videos, I’m Still Standing:

And another good one from the 80s. back when MTV actually played music videos, I Don’t Wanna Go On (With You Like That):

Marriage Ban Upheld

The Wisconsin State Supreme Court got one right: it upheld the voter approved ban on homosexual marriage.

Madison – A legal challenge to the state’s constitutional ban on gay marriage was rejected Wednesday by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

In a resounding 7-0 ruling, the justices upheld a lower court’s finding that the 2006 constitutional amendment was properly put to voters in a statewide referendum.

In doing so, the court dismissed a plaintiff’s argument that lawmakers violated a rule that limits referendum questions to a single subject when they gave voters one referendum question that included two sections – one on gay marriage and one on civil unions.

“Both sentences of the marriage amendment relate to marriage and tend to effect or carry out the same general purpose of preserving the legal status of marriage in Wisconsin as between only one man and one woman,” Justice Michael Gableman wrote.

In November 2006, voters were asked whether the state should ban same-sex marriage and whether it should ban “identical or substantially similar arrangements,” such as civil unions. Wisconsin voters adopted the amendment with 59% of the vote.

Bill McConkey, a University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh political science instructor from Door County, sued the state in 2007 in Dane County Circuit Court arguing that the ban should be struck down. Voters didn’t have a chance to vote “no” to one part and “yes” to the other, so the entire amendment should be thrown out, McConkey argued.

But the office of state Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen countered that the constitution was properly amended because the two parts of the amendment were closely related and part of the same general purpose.

McConkey is a crank. Claims to be a conservative but no real conservative would try to use a legal technicality to overrule the will of the people.

This vote wasn’t even close, folks. It passed with 59 percent of the vote. Clearly Wisconsin voters believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. Period. And yes, the civil unions diversion is an attempt to rename and redefine marriage.

I fully expect the Left to try one legal challenge after another here. They aren’t bright enough to figure out what 7-0 means. Even Shirley Abrahamson voted with the majority.
