This is — or at least should be — child abuse.
WEAC — or, Wisconsin Extortion Association Council — thugs brainwash children, clearly elementary school age, into repeating mindless pro-union chants at the State Capitol. Ann Althouse shot the video:
Mindless drivel like “Children united will never be divided.” Or the teachers chanting “Whose house?” and the children responding “Our house!” Likewise, the teachers chanting “Show us what democracy looks like” and the kids responding “This is what democracy looks like.” And the disgusting “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Scott Walker has got to go.”
My argument that gummint-run skoolz have long since stopped being institutions of learning and are little more than leftist brainwashing and indoctrination centers just got a whole new collection of evidence here.
These so-called professionals are anything but. WEAC thugs are just that — thugs. Few union teachers have even the slightest modicum of professionalism, from their attitudes down to something as simply as their attire. People who want to be considered as professionals should look, act and dress the part.
Althouse notes:
Aren’t you forgetting a thing or 2? You’ve got them chanting “Hey hey, ho ho, Scott Walker has got to go” — but what do they know about Scott Walker? That he’s done something the teachers don’t like. So, maybe some day, when you do something they don’t like, some kid might start “Hey hey, ho ho, [TEACHER'S NAME] has got to go.”
A side note: while the WEAC thugs stress rote memorization of insipid, moronic union chants, the gummint-run skoolz curriculum has been working for years to eliminate rote memorization of such things as basic math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and basic facts about geography and history, believing such things to be a waste of time and beneath the students.
Hot Air’s Allahpundit observes:
[Althouse is] troubled by the sight of kids being taught to chant without comprehension, but that’s actually useful here, no? Comprehension would entail knowing that Wisconsin public employees still have more collective bargaining rights on pay and benefits than our federal work force has, and if kids knew that, well, they might conclude that it’s Obama who should be the one to go. And certainly that would be the wrong lesson.
And Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft says:
It’s never too early to indoctrinate the children.
Hmmm … like this?
Or this?
Or this?
Or this, an oldie but a goodie?
Don’t forget: every totalitarian state has had control of the children through brainwashing. Stalin and the Soviet Union. Mao Zedong and Red China. Hitler and Nazi Germany.
This is why the concept of freeing children from the state indoctrination centers known as gummint-run skoolz via school choice and homeschooling is such a popular idea with the public and why those ideas are hated with such passion by those who right now control those young skulls full of mush.
